No Captain, We Share This Universe!
In my most recent series of oil paintings, "No Captain, We Share This Universe!", I have painted rose tinted scenes of the western United States from the view of a traveller by automobile. For the second portion of this series, I have painted a vessel in night storm at sea from the view of an observer. I painted these to illustrate a contrast in realities. Specifically, the realities of people that live in a safe place and are able to travel the planet for pleasure verses those that risk their lives to travel for survival. This series is about memories of the past, desires of freedom for all in the future, and fear of a devastating present.
